Sealed-burner and rangetop work on Viking gas ranges: ignition that will not catch, a simmer that dies, a flame the wrong shape.
What it usually turns out to be
Viking puts two causes against this one: the supply valve is shut, or the supply has been interrupted. Both get ruled out first. After that it is the igniter — wet from a boil-over, dirty, cracked, or out of square. A cracked one throws its spark into the burner base rather than across the gap.
A different fault, most often misread as the first. Viking lists three causes: an ungrounded supply, reversed polarity, and a wet or dirty igniter. Two of the three are the outlet rather than the range, so the meter goes on the receptacle first.
For a flame that burns long, distorted or yellow, Viking names three things: clogged ports, air shutters not properly adjusted, and a range on a gas it was not set up for. Ports clear with a pin, never a toothpick. Shutters are bench work.
Two ways on
Viking is explicit: a certified technician is required for any adjustment or conversion between natural gas and LP. We do not touch gas lines or install appliances.
